Fundraising Support:
Fundraising guidance is provided after registration. Over 75% of our students successfully fundraise all or most of their trip costs—and you can too!

Space is limited and fills quickly. Once the cohort is full, families may join our waitlist. If demand exceeds capacity, we may open an additional cohort to accommodate more students.

Going Global FAQ

Students will experience the city of lights with our IYLP Paris 1.0 program. Our Paris itinerary includes college visits, a networking event, Black Paris history tour and, of course, the iconic sights of Paris. Students will reside in beautiful residential areas where they will have the experience of living, learning and growing in a unique and transformational way.

Students actively develop leadership skills through daily responsibilities, collaborative challenges, and real-time decision-making while traveling abroad. By rotating leadership roles, navigating new environments, and working as a team, students build confidence, accountability, communication skills, and resilience. Leadership is not taught only in theory — it is practiced in real situations that require problem-solving, adaptability, and mutual support.

Students gain firsthand exposure to different cultures, languages, and social norms through immersive travel. Rather than observing from a distance, they engage directly with local communities, institutions, and traditions. This experience builds empathy, curiosity, and respect while helping students understand how culture shapes communication, identity, and opportunity in a global society.

Students form meaningful international connections with peers, educators, and professionals. Through campus visits, networking events, and cultural exchanges, they expand their understanding of global career pathways and academic opportunities. These early relationships help students envision themselves as part of a worldwide community of leaders and learners

The program highlights the global contributions of the African diaspora, connecting students to powerful stories of innovation, resistance, creativity, and cultural influence. By exploring Black history in an international context, students deepen their sense of identity and belonging while recognizing their place within a global legacy of excellence.

Students experience international education firsthand through college visits and exposure to global academic environments. Seeing themselves on international campuses transforms study abroad from an abstract idea into a realistic and achievable goal. This exposure sparks ambition and helps students imagine future educational and career pathways beyond borders.
